A bed ridden patient needs full-time care and attention by a
medical technician [nurse/ brother]. Care of a bedridden patient
is a team work which includes family members, nursing personnel,
physiotherapist and a health care professional to provide
technically correct mode of handling patients to maintain their
hygiene.


PHC at HOME staff works as per the guidelines mentioned below:
• Nursing care and management of bedridden and sick person at
home under the guidance of patient’s health care professional/
relatives.
• Periodical checkup of parameters like B.P, Pulse, Respiration
and Body temperature.
• Intake and output record.
• Hygiene and skin care.
• Physiotherapy as per the advice of a physiotherapist or a
health care professional.
• Psychological support to patient.
• Accompany patient for procedures/ treatment to hospital.
• Dial for an Ambulance.
Male/ female with aging problem and/or in any diseased condition
are being taken care by our Home Based Health Care Unit at
patient’s home or in a hospital. Our staff is sincere and
dedicated for the work of nursing and till date we have provided
services for approximate 1000 bedridden patient’s for 05 years.
We have technical persons for the bed side procedures like ryles
tube, urine catheterization, dressing, administering injections,
measuring blood sugar, temperature & blood pressure etc.
PHC at HOME staff works in shift duties to care for the patient
round the clock. We have a team of physiotherapist and health
care professionals of different disciplines , who provide their
services on demand.

In bedridden patient most common complication is Bedsore, which can
be prevented, managed and treated with proper nursing care.
When patient is bedridden for prolonged period and if he/she is not
properly handled (positioning & maintaining hygiene) would develop
ulceration [sores] which mostly occurs at the pressure points and
bony prominences is called as bedsores or decubitus ulcers or
pressure sores.
Major Factors Responsible for Bedsores.

Friction when a person is dragged and not lifted or turned in

will start and move towards achieving its goal of “Total Care with
Supportive Medical Help”.
The mission of the centre is to provide best palliative care for
bedridden and terminally ill patients whose active medication is
over, and have to stay in hospitals for nursing care only. Their
illness vary from being a simple fracture to major illness like
cancer. Palliative care applies not only to incurable malignant
disease but also to several other diseases, such as end-stage organ
failure and degenerative neuromuscular diseases.
