| HISTORY |
It was in early 90’s that a doctor working with an accident and
trauma hospital was moved to see the numerous deaths due to road
traffic accidents. He was stirred to think about the statistics
within India. He was so perturbed with the thought that he went out
to do an extensive research on “deaths due to traffic accidents”.
The figure was alarmingly overwhelming. The research revealed that
there were over one lack of deaths due to road traffic accidents in
India. When he tried to compare Indian statistics on the world
scenario, he was shocked to find that, India in spite of its low
vehicular population [less than 1%] accounts for more than 6% of all
the RTA related deaths in the world.
This shocking research results motivated him to teach First-aid and
train people to manage the first golden hour of accident, enabling
them to save life of fellow humans suffering due to accidents or any
medical emergency till the arrival of proper medical care.
Finally on 7th June, 1999 he established an organization “Jeevan
Raksha Charitable Trust” dedicating himself completely to the
humanitarian cause.
Since then, the institution has imparted training in first-aid and
resuscitation to several government and non-government
organizations; has also conducted medical and health awareness &
check-up camps.
Today the organization is glad to proclaim that many trainees have
been successful in saving lives of accidental victims with the help
of training imparted to them |
