Safety Tips for Four Wheeler Owners, Travelers and Drivers to prevent Road Traffic Accidents on Highways:
- Before you start for an outstation journey by taxi or by your personal vehicle, check for the following points in your driver:
- Eyes are red and bouncing due to inadequate sleep.
- Smell Breath for alcohol.
- Body language [to assess his mental stress level]
- If you find a single factor dominating him, immediately change the driver.
- Check his driving license for the validity.
- While driving if you observe rashness and carelessness in his driving immediately stop him and give him specific instructions.
- Don’t sleep in the vehicle especially beside the driver. At least one person should be always awake, who can intermittently talk and monitor the driver.
- Don’t create nuisance (movies or songs blaring) in the vehicle which can disturb the concentration of a driver.
- Before you start, check all the RTO papers, insurance of the vehicle and pollution certificate [validity].
- Tie the seat belts [driver and others], they are provided by the company for your safety.
- No over loading.
- If the driver feels tired or sleepy, immediately stop the vehicle and take rest and refreshing drink like hot tea or coffee.
- Check and carry the essential spanners and tools, and functioning torch.
- Always carry First-Aid Kit.

- No rash and careless driving.
- Use of helmet [ISI mark] by the rider and pillion rider [Tie it properly]
- No triple or more pillion riders.
- No use of cell phone while driving.
- Don’t drink before/or while driving.
- If the rider feels tired or sleepy, immediately take rest and refreshing drink like hot tea or coffee.
- Always hydrate yourself to prevent heat stroke. [specially in summer]
- Intermittently talk and be in touch with your relatives or friends about the distance you covered.
